He Has Overcome the World

Christ promises believers that He will accompany them on the journey. He told his followers two thousand years ago that he would be with them always, and that commitment stands. He did not say that the pilgrimage would be an easy one. To the contrary. He said that this world would bring trouble to His disciples. There will be trials and difficulties. The journey will take people across deserts and darkness. The winds of doubt will blow and there will be battles. But the encouragement He offers in is this, “be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

This Christmas season let's remember the purpose of that small baby that changed the world. He came to overcome the world for us. We are the VICTORS, He has overcome. Because of Him we do not walk the trials and difficulties of life alone. None would have expected a vulnerable baby to be the warrior that overcame the world, but that is how His kingdom works-in unexpected ways and often unusual methods.
